Description:
One purpose of a line is to simply connect one point to another. What happens between the two points is not necessarily determined in advance.
To make a materialized line hold in space, it must be folded at least three times, more or less orthogonally.
To create an image, for example the contours of a wall or a wall with an open door, this folding technique must be done in three dimensions and very quickly, the line becomes an object. It represents a space and limits and delimits it to reveals a scale.
Marin Kasimir (1957, Munich) has been well known for his One Line large outdoor’s installation referring often to minimal architecture in his sculpture and photography work as well as tributing artists from different era such as Stanley Brouwn or Norbert Kricke in this smaller example.
