Whilst we were in Dubai last week we had the pleasure of attending The Third Line’s current exhibition opening, a visual feast for the eyes; “Elsewhen” - a solo presentation by the Iranian artist Ala Ebtekar. “Elsewhen” explores the concepts of alternate realities, space and utopia.
Ala Ebtekar presented two new bodies of works; a series of photographs of Iran’s famous Tomb of Hafez located in Shiraz, Iran, and paintings on the actual book pages from the revered Persian poet Hafez’s collection of works the Divan-e-Hafez. Hafez is highly regarded in the Persian-speaking world, his poetry believed to be divinely inspired, flowing with spiritual love and guidance.
